The RAMA Group Participates in the XIII Remedia Workshop.

On June 3 and 4, the 13th Workshop of the Remedia Network (Scientific Network for the Mitigation of Greenhouse Gas Emissions in the Agroforestry Sector) was held in Zaragoza at the facilities of CIHEAM (Mediterranean Agronomic Institute of Zaragoza). This annual event, which brings together the leading Spanish experts involved in climate change adaptation and mitigation in the agroforestry and livestock sectors, was preceded by the international seminar “Mitigation and Adaptation Options for Mediterranean Agriculture under the Climate Change Challenge”, organized by CIHEAM.

Both events featured extensive participation from members of the RAMA Group. During the first session, held on June 2, Enrique Playán (EEAD-CSIC) presented the main challenges facing irrigation systems in the Mediterranean region and the different strategies available to address the current climate change scenario.

Regarding the 13th Remedia Workshop, not only did several RAMA Group members participate scientifically, but they also played key roles in the organization of the event. These included Jorge Álvaro-Fuentes (EEAD-CSIC), current President of the Remedia Network; Samuel Franco-Luesma (CITA), member of the Board; Farida Dechmi Akchiche (CITA); and Ana Simões Mota (EEAD-CSIC).
