Welcome Meeting for the PhD Program in Agricultural and Environmental Sciences

On February 13, the Welcome and Evaluation Day for PhD candidates of the 2025/2026 academic year of the Doctoral Program in Agricultural and Environmental Sciences was held at the Escuela Politécnica Superior (Huesca). The event was coordinated by Asunción Usón Murillo and provided a forum for presenting research progress and strengthening collaboration among doctoral students.

During the session, PhD candidates from the RAMA research group shared updates on their doctoral work, addressing key challenges in modern agriculture related to sustainability, water management, and resource efficiency.

Next, Adrián Aladrén Pérez (Intensification of semi-arid rainfed field crops: Sustainable alternatives to the traditional tilled fallow system) and Marcos Bongiovanni Ferreyra (Analysis and optimization of water use, energy consumption, and crop yield in the irrigated area of Monte Saso de Biota). Finally, Mirela Mujkic (Sustainable use of water and soil resources to reduce the environmental impact of agricultural activities and mitigate climate change in irrigated agricultural systems) and Alexey Valero Jorge (Modeling and remote sensing for updating crop water demand in large irrigated areas in response to the challenge of improving water management under climate change conditions).
