The third summer school of the SMARTWATER project is taking place between 3 and 7 July 2023 in Trebinje, Bosnia and Herzegovina. The project aims to promote the adoption of new technologies for water management in local agriculture to deal with droughts and climate change. SMARWATER partners include the Universities of Banja Luka (coordinator) and Sarajevo, the Mediterranean Agronomic Institute of Bari (Italy), the Higher Institute of Agronomy of Lisbon (Portugal), the company SysMan of Italy and the Aula Dei Experimental Station of CSIC in Zaragoza (Spain).
The Summer School has an itense program of classes, seminars and field visits. The course is aimed at young professionals who are completing their university education or who work in the water sector. This is the third edition of the summer school, and it has counted with the participation of the RAMA group, just like in the two previous editions.
The RAMA group is currently working on its latest project deliverable, in which it is developing a guide to consolidate research on water management in agriculture in Bosnia and Herzegovina. To this end, RAMA carried out intense field work in the month of May, interviewing a hundred actors from both supply and demand for research on water in agriculture.
