Javier Fernández-Pato, new ARAID researcher at EEAD-CSIC

Javier Fernández Pato, a member of the RAMA group at EEAD-CSIC, has been awarded one of the nine prestigious ARAID Foundation contracts for 2025. He will begin his new contract on September 1st. The Aragonese Agency for Research and Development Foundation (ARAID) is a non-profit institution created in 2005 by the Government of Aragon to promote R&I as a key factor in regional development and, therefore, at the service of all Aragonese society. ARAID’s main activity is the incorporation of researchers and scientists into the Aragonese R&I system, in order to enhance strategic lines of research for Aragon.

Javier is a specialist in computational fluid mechanics, a discipline in which he was trained at the Computational Hydraulics and Hemodynamics Group at the University of Zaragoza. He began his career at Hydronia LCC (Florida, USA). In 2023, he joined the CSIC’s Aula Dei Experimental Station, part of the ARENA group, which is in turn part of the RAMA group. Within his discipline, Javier has developed projects on flow in channels and rivers, as well as flow acceleration in open channels and closed conduits using GPU programming in a CUDA environment.
